“kentucky's first state park”
Pine Mountain State Resort Park is a park located in Bell County, Kentucky, United States. The park opened in 1924 as Kentucky's first state park. Each spring, the park hosts the annual Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival, as it has since the festival's inception in 1931.
We decided to visit Pine Mountain State Park because the Pinnacle at the Cumberland Gap State Park was closed due to the government shutdown! I am so glad we did! This place is great! The overlooks provided amazing views! We were on a day trip, but we stopped and checked out the lodge! We are now making plans for a weekend trip!
Great place to travel the mountains. Hiking along the way and don't miss Chained Rock
