“world's largest collection of Star Wars Memorabilia”

Note: you must call ahead to book to access this place! A visit to Rancho Obi-Wan is a distinctive interactive experience unlike that offered by any other museum, exhibit, archive, or memorabilia collection. The museum houses the world’s largest private Star Wars collection and tours of the private collection are guided by owner Steve Sansweet. Rancho Obi-Wan appeals to avid Star Wars fans, who can spend hours asking Steve questions on topics ranging from action figures to screen-used props. The museum also attracts non-core fans with exhibits that show the interaction of Star Wars and popular culture, the immense changes in technology and the workplace that happened in less than four decades, and the worldwide reach of Star Wars as seen through the lens of international culture. Even those with just a casual interest in Star Wars will appreciate the outstanding quality of the visuals and immersive environments, along with the stories Steve spins. Everyone has a chance to challenge their skills in the Star Wars Arcade, where fans of all ages can play vintage video games and pinball machines, all set on free-play! Any member of Rancho Obi-Wan can book a guided tour of the private collection. Please read our tour policies, check the calendar below for date availability, become a Member, login to the member-only store to purchase tickets and then email to confirm your tour. Tour tickets are $60 each with a 2 ticket minimum. Kids 12 and under are free, one adult required for every 2 kids, limited to the spaces available on the tour. Tours usually start at 2pm and last between 2 and 3 hours. Only dates marked with “AVAILABLE” or “TOUR @ 2pm” are available to book. Click these dates for more information. Now booking through the end of MAY, 2014 only. During the year, Rancho Obi-Wan frequently offers free “School Days at the Museum,” which includes a two to three hour tour for a class with educational emphasis placed on a topic that the teacher requests (Star Wars and Science, The Entertainment Industry, The Impact of Popular Culture on our Lives, Creativity, etc.) Our president, Steve Sansweet, author of 16 Star Wars books, has delivered scores of lectures in the past 15 years, has been interviewed on numerous television shows and online podcasts and videos, and was a lecturer in the 1980s at the University of Southern California, where he taught courses in Basic Journalism and Business Journalism.

Steve Sansweet is the chairman and CEO of Rancho Obi-Wan, a nonprofit museum that is home to the world's largest collection of Star Wars memorabilia. Sansweet's amassed so much Star Wars loot that it'd make Admiral Ackbar blush.
He's collected his 300,000-piece, Guinness World Records-certified treasure trove over 37 years. It's housed safely in an old hen house, which served around 20,000 egg-producing chickens until the '70s.
