This homestead encompasses 40 acres where visitors can experience the family home, barns, hen house, grainery, blacksmith shop, sauna, root cellar and milk house. The farm was occupied for 70 years by the Hanka family, all of whom reached their most productive time in the 1920's. The Hanka Homestead Finnish Museum is open from Memorial Day thru Labor Day Tues, Thurs, Sat & Sun, plus holidays, from noon to 4. At other times visitors are welcome to take a brochure for a self-guided tour of the grounds.
