“Desert conservation through preservation, education & appreciation!”
The botanical gardens of this park offer great opportunities to see desert vegetation.
Take lots of water. Fun for the family, and it's fun to feed the animals.
Hours off on Roadtrippers not the zoo site, theirs is correct.
Be aware the summer hours do not match what is on the site. Last admission at 1:00 open till 1:30. Tickets must be purchased on line and you must pick the time you are arriving.
Better than the San Diego Zoo. When my husband got sick on our trip and couldn't go up the Tram or to Joshua Tree we decided to check out the zoo and we were not disappointed. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, the animals seemed healthy and happy, all in all it was a great visit.
Amazing zoo and garden - one of the best around! A must see! Both educational and beautiful. I would recommend setting aside at least a whole day to see the whole place. Every time I'm in the area, I try to spend time here.
4 boys from Orange County and we had a lot of fun looking at and learning about all the different types of desert plant life. We were truly fascinated. The animals were lots of fun to see our fave was the giraffes and the sand cat also if you get a chance see the animal hospital. Right now the living desert has a Dinosaur show. And for model train lovers there is quite the outdoor train world that was fun. Very clean and friendly place. Very breathtaking scenery.
Seriously, one of the best zoo's that is affordable and well maintained. You can get up so close to the animals than other zoos. Our son (5) loves it here. Be sure to pack sun screen, water, and wear shoes. Some of the exhibits are a hike away over dirt trails. We would highly recommend this to anyone!
Such a great opportunity to visit Living Deserts Zoo & Gardens while being in Palm Springs!
There is so much to learn about the Californian flora and fauna!!
The animals are very well cared and very friendly and the plants are fantastic to see. The boards give you all the information you need and if you want to ask more then do not hesitate talking to the staff, they are all so very friendly.
Very educational and interesting visit!
