“Stay at the historic "Pink House"”
Nestled in the heart of Sgt. York Country (Hwy. 127 - Pall Mall , TN , Cumberland Plateau) the property of Jim and Sheryl Buck has been transformed into a comfortable country retreat. It consists of approximately 300 acres of rolling farmland with a mountain of mature timber surrounding the entire area. Adjacent to Jim and Sheryl's modern log home are two recently renovated houses they have opened for overnight lodging. The first house, just off Hwy. 127, is the “Minnie Greer” farm house. The home was constructed in the early 1900's by Marion and Minnie Greer, who lived there their entire lives. The Greers, who had no children, raised cattle, chickens, turkeys, hogs and kept borders (who paid for their stay with labor on the farm -- often building “pailin fences”). Nephew of the Greers, Mr. Ernest Buck, continued the farming operation after their deaths and his son, Jim and wife Sheryl, currently maintain the acreage. Jim, an insurance agent and Sheryl, an elementary math teacher, raise Angus beef cattle, cut hay, and have extensive gardens on the farm.
