The Powell Museum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization started in 1969 by a group of local volunteers to commemorate the life and accomplishments of Major John Wesley Powell. Today it is much more. It houses interpretive exhibits, historic collections and archives, a visitor information center, and a shop with books, maps, local art, and items relating to the Colorado Plateau.
