Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on October 16, 2021This was our second time camping here. The first was a site on the water in a travel trailer. Excellent! This time we stayed in one of their Red Carpet sites off the water. There was nothing red carpet about it. Oddly shaped elongated unlevel site( 4 blocks on drivers side, 3 on passengers side) . It would have been helpful if the check in person circled the site we were in and gave me a preview of how to get to our site. I had to open the map she handed me and ask her to show me where my site was. The lake is pretty so be sure to get on the water in the Poplar section. Some of those sites have concrete pads. Lots of people bringing their own boats. The drive in is pretty but mountainous. Don’t arrive after dark unless you’ve been there before. Roads and signage within the resort is tricky. We had two bars of AT&T. No Satellite.

We didn’t originally book this site because the week day rate was $30 per night, leading us to believe that it was too cheap to be called a resort. After staying at another nearby campground and having zero cell service, we took a drive up here and were floored!!! Not only were sites available, but we had 3-4 bars of Sprint service and our AT&T hotspot had a minimum of 2 bars. The sites are large with privacy between most sites on the hill. Restrooms were clean and had lots of hot water! Prices stayed low, even on weekends ($55 nightly) due to covid. We opted to stay another day because it was so nice! My husband even found private Fly fishing lessons near by! We will be back!!
Roads are curvy on the way in but well paved and marked.

This was our maiden voyage for a 1 night work out kinks type of stay with our new rv. This spot wa large with shade from a few trees and a great view a this portion of the lake. The spot was so even I di t have to do any leveling and had fire pit and nice picnic table. Power water and cable at the site. Wifi was better than expected and had 4 bar Verizon. The resort had a 4 spot dump station.

We stayed the week after the 4th of July and had a great time here. Everyone was friendly and our spot was very spacious. It was on a bit of a slope which made it hard to find a level spot for the kids tent, but some of the other sites were a bit more level so maybe next year I will try for one of those. There is no sewer and I used my blue boy tank to take my black and grey water to the dump station (free). Or for $10.00 you can have a service come pump you out. The lake is beautiful and water temperature was perfect. We will definitely go back.

Great campground at Raystown Lake. The only negatives where that the trailer pad was fairly level but the site itself was very unlevel. Also due to our site being right on the lake shore we had lots of people cutting through the back of our site. People were friendly and the entire campsite is well maintained. Water and electric hook up only. Dump station for sewer. We were able to pull the boat right up to the back of our campsite. This is one of the best places to stay if you love to camp and boat. We have two more trips planned for here this year

This campground offers tent sites, RV Sites, cabins and hotel accommodation. The campground is relatively flat and on the shore of Lake Raystown. The amenities are great and located centrally in each section of the park. Lots of trees which adds to the privacy of the sites. There are premium sites available but book out well in advance!
Some sites are waterfront, but all are close to the water. All sites have fire rings and picnic tables. WIFI is available. There is a boat hire place located on the grounds that hires pontoon boats and jet skis in season.
The lake is beautiful and sunsets from the campground are stunning. There is a sandy beach which is perfect for swimming. Note there are minimum nightly stays over weekends during peak periods. They welcome furry friends!
Checkin is drive-through at the gatehouse, really easy!

Booked 2 months in advance and got a waterfront site with water and electric. (The water pressure is intense). Easy access, narrow, gravel site, with sloping sides, so had to be careful when exiting rv. I would camp at any site in the campground. All are well maintained. There is a loop with premium concrete sites, but I hear they are hard to get. There is also a lodge, cabins, villas and yurts. There is a dump station with four stations. There's a nice hose for flushing black tank, and potable water close-by across the road, so no cross contamination. There is also a honeywagon for convenience. The bathhouses are clean enough with tons of hot water. (I always use the bathouse at least once, to review). I used the handicap stall (I never saw anyone use the bathhouse), and was surprised to find there is no way a person in a wheel chair could get in that stall. Or even if someone needed a helper, no way they would fit. Campground needs to step up their game in that department! Disclaimer: We camped for a week in mid October and had only a handful of other people in our loop. Thurs eve the huge rigs started rolling in, and it was much more crowded, but still a nice family atmosphere. Everyone we talked to said the summer is packed and crazy. Oh did I mention the lake? It is beyond gorgeous. The lake is on Army Core of Engineers land, so shores have minimal development. Very rural. Bring food in. You'll have to travel a good ways for groceries and restaurants. And don't miss Trough Creek State Park. Beautiful. I can see why this area draws the crowds!
