“Hear the wind whispering in the pines”
Jim and Mae Witkus recognized this special piece of land back in summer of 1945. The following April Jim built a 10x20 cabin, and our family moved in on May 1, 1946. The natural beauty of nature at Bear Paw evokes the environment to write poetry or work on your novel. A place where you can hear the wind whispering in the pines and chickadees calling. Where bald eagles and osprey soar over water scouting for prey and red squirrels chatter at you when you get to close to their pine cone stash. All cabins are equipped for housekeeping with stove, refrigerator, dishes, pots and pans etc. There is a large , 6 burner propane barbeque grill on wheels which you can reserve for a cook out, and a community fire circle where everyone gathers at night to visit and enjoy the stars.
