Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on August 19, 2023This is a small RV park right at the doorstep of the Voyageurs National Park Ash River Visitor center. I think they do mostly long term and seasonal spots, but we called them up and booked a 4 night stay no problem. There are maybe 20 RV spots that are pretty well spaced out with full hookups, and a handful of cabins that can be rented. Water/electric/sewage hookups all worked great. This is an independent campground, you’ll need to call them on the phone to reserve a spot, and it would be a good idea to call a day or two before you arrive to confirm. The grounds were in great shape, very scenic. The owner also rents boats and the campground is steps from the ash river. Checking in was a bit confusing, you have to pull in past the two houses (there is no official “office”) and stop at the big workshop/garage and ask to check on. Ice, firewood, bathrooms, showers and laundry all available on site. Would stay again!

We really enjoyed staying here for a few days. It’s a few minutes away from the national park and the community here is great. There’s a couple of restaurant/bars to visit. The RV park was very clean and the sites are nicely spaced with grass and fire pits. Private bathrooms and laundry. Very quite park. No cell service but the WiFi worked great. We would stay again!

Site 14 is a very quiet location. This is a very good place to base camp out of. We rented a boat a few blocks away and went out on Kabetogama lake. It was a great day with a little bit of fishing. We found a beautiful beach to land on and had a lunch, played in the water and took a nap. Go and enjoy this area. There's a great bar down the road call Ash-Ka-Nam. The burgers are hand made and the drinks are reasonably priced. We had full hook-ups and the water was the best we've had in a Campground. AT&T had a very strong signal. We done our hot spot from our phone and was able to stream movies.

Not big rig capable. I reserved a spot for a 42’ class A even tho we are 40’. Couldn’t back into the space because it was so narrow and the non paved area was too soggy to support the weight. We were offered another site that had overhanging trees so we were too tall. The owner wasn’t there, but a groundskeeper was assisting us. Chris, the owner, called after we left and stated: “if you were a better driver you wouldn’t have a problem” then charged me for both nights plus a 3% credit card charge. Very unprofessional and rude. Mostly rundown full timers.

We called a little last minute after some other plans changed & we decided to head to Voyageurs. There are not a lot of campgrounds on this or other apps in the area, so we were surprised when they had an opening for two weeks for us. Upon arriving, the campground is very easy to access with some open sites throughout our entire stay.
All the sites seemed fairly level, we only needed slight leveling upon pulling in. Full hookups with great water pressure. Probably 20(ish) sites of various lengths with picnic tables and fire rings in between. Not the most space in between sites, but definitely not an issue. The shower and laundry facilities were super clean and well maintained. There was trash and recycling on site. The owners were super friendly and accommodating. Mowing and weed whacking done regularly and always looked super nice.
For an area covered in trees, we were worried about line of sight for Starlink since we work during the day, but we had excellent line of sight here & had zero interruptions in service. We had T-Mobile coverage, but there were times when it was showing signal but not actually loading.
There are a lot of seasonal campers here, but it was different than other long term campers at other parks. Essentially these are people from other parts of Minnesota parking for the summer & fishing. All the seasonal campsites were clean with friendly people enjoying the lakes.
The resort also rents boats, but as we have our own kayak so we did not utilize it, but the prices seemed reasonable comparable to others in the area & the boats seemed in good condition. There is river access directly across from the resort and public access two blocks down the road.
Ash River Trail, where the park is located, is a quiet street with resorts and a couple restaurants & an ice cream and tackle shop (lol for real!). Easy access to both Ash River and Kabetogama Lake Visitors Centers for the National Park. AshKaNam restaurant down the street was great, we visited a couple times & everything was really good! Kabetogama Outdoors on the way to Kabetogama Lake Visitors Center has great ice cream & mosquito headsets (equally important)!
We would absolutely stay here again when visiting Voyageurs.
