A Henry A. Wallace historical marker is in the park. Born near Orient; Wallace served as a U.S. Vice Presdient; U.S. Secretary of Agriculture; and U.S. Secretary of Commerce. This 22-acre lake offers fishing, camping with electricity, shelter houses, a playground, Frisbee golf, horseshoes, and a walking trail. Orient Lake provides recreation for visitors of all ages.

Great hidden gem county campground that I don’t think many people know about unless their locals this year they put all New electric hook ups throughout the park plus there’s a water Spicket between each site is shared, a fairly new bath house is really clean, great place for kids or grandkids, kayaking, but no dump station You’ll have to drive into the town of orient and pay three dollars to dump other than that it’s on my favorite places to go, also the farm house just east Of the park sells firewood huge chunks for pretty cheap and also farm fresh eggs, it’s an awesome place.
