“1,336 acres of the finest recreation”
Maumee Bay State Park offers 1,336 acres of not only the finest of recreational facilities in the Midwest, but also a unique natural environment created by the convergence of the land and Lake Erie. The lodge, cottages and golf course are nestled among the scenic meadows, wet woods and lush marshes teeming with wildlife. The balance of recreational facilities with the natural world gives visitors a diverse experience in a coastal environment. A 32-slip marina on Lake Erie has dockage available by reservation. A 57-acre inland lake in the park is suitable for sailing, canoeing and other non-motorized boat use. Lake Erie known as the "walleye capital of the world" offers some of the best fishing opportunities in the midwest. Great catches of walleye, channel catfish, freshwater drum, smallmouth bass and yellow perch delight the fisherman. The man-made inland lake near the lodge offers good pan fishing opportunities with two wheelchair accessible fishing piers. A valid Ohio fishing license is required.

Confirmed by 8 users | Last reported on August 31, 2023This was a lovely place to stay. It's a little expensive for a campground, but the site I booked had electricity, and the bathrooms/showers were clean and great. It was a nice walk from my site to the beach and back.
We camped at Maumee Bay State Park for one night in September, 2015. We had an electric and water site on a cul de sac with a large green lot next to the paved RV pad. Fire pit and picnic table available. There were only a few other rigs on this loop with us and it was very quiet while we were there. Some decent privacy between lots with trees and bushes.
Quick walk across the cul de sac and down a short path to the bathhouse. Clean. Hot water, great water pressure.
The location wasn't convenient if you were planning on spending any time in nearby Toledo. But if you wanted to simply take it easy and enjoy time outside, it would be a great park for that. Lakeside walk, biking paths, lots of space to explore, bug and bird watch, etc.

Pleasantly surprised by this park. Sites are large, many have screening, there is never another campsite behind you and all have nice grass. There are bike trails for walking or riding, the lake with a beach and it's super quiet. It was even quiet on Memorial Day weekend when the entire campground was full. Well maintained, the showers were clean, hot and the shower heads were not at chest height. Final plus was on the way out when we discovered they have provided hoses at the dump station. Sounds like high potential for gross but it wasn't and was super convenient.
Sites were 30 amp, no water or sewer. Toledo is 20 minutes or so away and Cedar Point is an hour+. Mostly it's a place to come and just chill out, not a ton of entertainment in the area.
Verizon was good enough for working, AT&T was faster and a better choice for video calls.

A beautiful location that was the epitome of cleanliness and very large RV slots. Each spot is set up to make you feel like you are secluded. All spots are electric only with fresh water available at a faucet on each row and at the park entryway. Dumping is set up with two stations on your way out ... no need to dig out the slinky as the park has the hoses in place; pull up, dump, rinse the hose off and pull on out. Very quick and confident.
Bike and walking paths were abundant and well maintained. We walked to view Lake Erie and it was less then 8/10 of a mile each way.
We only reduced the rating to 4 stars due to no full hook ups.

Nice, level sites with good spacing. Nice walking/biking path to the lake, fishing lakes for the kids, has an amphitheater area and lodge with restaurant. Sites are electric only, with water scattered throughout the campground and dump stations on the way out. Would give it 5 stars if it had FHU's.

The per night represents the Passport America rate and all taxes and reservation fees. We joined Passport America when we figured out that this campground alone provided a 50% discount on the days we stayed. We are not affiliated with Passport America.
Sites are electric only but there is a nice water fill and dump station as you enter the park.
Wow, what a great state park. They take amazing care of this park. Very clean and well maintained.
This park offers biking trials, fishing area, kayak/boat rentals, several beaches, playgrounds, basketball court, golfing at the lodge, and a nice small newer laundry facility with 4 washers and 4 dryers at $1.50 each.
Sites are spacious with vegetation between you and neighbors. Believe all sites are back-in with plenty of space for our 30' trailer and truck.
If you need propane, a couple miles towards town is Do It Best Home Center. Very reasonable propane prices.

A beautiful park, beach and campground with 256 paved level sites in 8 loops with electrical hookups. The grounds were very clean and spaced with a small patch of shrubs and small trees in between for privacy. There are at least 2 drinkingwater/greywater stations in each loop. Showers and bathrooms were very clean and there is a laundry in one of the loops. There is a small playground near each of the restroom/shower buildings. There is even a small pond with free fishing for kids.
There is also a hotel and conference center on the beach side with a big parking lot and a permanent outdoor reception tent setup. Very scenic and would be a nice place for a wedding reception.
We enjoyed several miles of shaded bicycle paths/walking trails through the woods and along the beach. We biked over to the boardwalk at the Nature Center and walked the 2 mile loop. Didn’t see a lot of birds, but it could be nice during some times of the year.
Although we stayed in Campsite#75, a sunny corner spot, the night was quiet. There was a nice grassy area to spread out the yoga mat and a picnic table.
Fees were $28 Sunday - Thursday including electric, $29 Friday and Saturday, and $30 Holidays Friday thru Sunday. We paid only $14 each night with our 50% off Passport America. They also offer military discounts.

We were just going to stop for a night here on the way home, but like it so much we stayed 2. Very clean place, restrooms and showers immaculate. The grounds are very well maintained. Not a lot of sites that are shady due to it's location (marshland), but that's a minor thing. Play the golf course, it's fantastic. Bike/walking trails all over the place.

Nice quiet winter camping spot. Only has electricity and a porta potty, however the dump site was open so not an issue.

We had a lot of fun. Check-in was easy. Hedge rows between campsites makes it more secluded. Easy access to beach via bike path or car. Boardwalk near nature center. The only thing we don’t like is the Sunday checkout time of 1 pm.
