If you have time, spend a night at Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa. It’s believed to be a sacred gathering place and a source of healing by the indigenous Native Americans of Northern New Mexico. Just above the resort are the ruins of the Posi-Ouinge Native American peoples. It’s a bit of a hike, but worth it to learn about the area’s first inhabitants. When you’re hungry, the Artesian Restaurant is just a short walk from the resort. And right next to that is the Wine Bar and Lounge. Finish your trip with a dip in the Kiva Pool. Reservations are required, but you’ll be hard-pressed to find a more serene setting to finish up your tour of New Mexico’s best hot springs.

LOVED our stay here; several pools/tubs to chose from, had a great mud rub, room was nice and food was great!

Resort would have been amazing if I had more time, and didn't have children with me. Not a place for kids! Restaurant was good, food from the farm you see on the way in. Stayed in the inn, rooms are nothing special, but the beds are super comfy!

For a fabulous day, soak here for a few hours, have lunch at the restaurant, and then make a reservation at Origin at Rancho de San Juan south just 13 miles on why 285 to see Ra Paulette's Windows of the Earth cave sanctuary. This is the only one open to the public legally, by docent led tours. Must make reservation: OriginNewMexico.com
