Skunk Ape Research Headquarters is open to the public 7 days a week from 9am to 5pm. You can purchase Skunk Ape memorabilia along with blow guns, knives and alligator heads at the Headquarters Store or on line. The Headquarters also features a Reptile & Bird Exhibit of huge gators, constrictors and a variety of exotic birds. Admission is $5 per person, children 5 and under free.
This place is small, but man, it's awesome, and makes for a killer photo op, especially if you're into weird roadside stops. The Skunk Ape is basically Florida's very own version of Bigfoot, and this is one of the few places that you can buy some bizarre merchandise dedicated specifically to him.
Also, you can buy blow guns. Guys. Blow guns. To hunt the Skunk Ape with.
This is all you would expect!!!
Total tourist trap but cool little place as a stop over before I went to Shark valley. There is a campground next to it too.
Worth a stop. Kinda sketchy outback.. but that makes it special.
My daughter and I stopped on our way to the Keys. They have plenty of animals to see and touch! Very inexpensive and interesting!
