“Turn of the century hotel”
Folks of all ages are welcome to visit the historic Hotel Western. The Hotel Western building is located at 9 Good Avenue in Nyssa, Oregon. The Hotel Western was constructed between 1904 and 1906 for a local speculator, John F. Reece. The ground floor is cast in place concrete and the secnd floor is brick. The hotel was located a block west of the railroad depot and served travelers. Over the years the building served other commercial uses (restaurant, furniture store, apartments, and a thrift shop). The Hotel Western was placed on the National Register on September 6, 1996. The building is currently being restored to its appearance as a hotel and will be used as a museum.
