We stayed here near the end of our two month-long trip. It was easily the filthiest, least maintained of all the campgrounds we'd visited, among 15 states. Trash scattered everywhere, piles of cigarette butts next to dirt picnic tables, and broken down, nasty bathrooms. Really? This is the best you can do? The only thing that happened with some efficiency was taking our money for the campground. We couldn't leave fast enough; and I'm kicking myself for not taking photos. I'd rather spend the night in a WalMart parking lot.

Stayed here in July 2016. Nice quiet campground, paved sites, most had shade. It was a bit of a hike to take the kayaks down to the water, but the trails were nice.

This is an Oklahoma State Park on a pretty good size lake. Water is murky from red dirt but the ranger (and locals) said the water is fine for swimming. It is about 10-12 miles south of I-40 off a very hilly access road.
Site had full hookups (30 amp) and plenty of shade.
Now the bad.....the bathhouse was disgusting. Floor was flooded (no rain) and everything was filthy. No curtains or dividers for the shower stalls. There was trash and cigarette butts everywhere. Every fire ring we saw was doing double duty as a trash receptacle.
This place could be awesome with a little work but as it is, I wouldn't recommend it for anything more than a stopover while travelling.

turkey pass campground--camping loops did not list campsite numbers per loop. if you missed your loop, you had to drive around the entire perimeter to return to your loop. nothing a person wants to do after driving all day than to drive around in circles in a new campground. no campground map is provided to help you out. campsites were ok. concrete level sites.
showers-- one had a sign that it did not accept quarters. one had a sign that said drain was very slow and flooded. the ada shower worked, but there was no separation for your dry clothes, which they provided 2 hooks to keep your stuff. the entire floor floods so when you are drying off and changing clothes, was a challenge. sitting by my fire last night there were 2 personal vehicles that slowly trolled the campground numerous times. they were not law enforcement personnel. nor were they campers. this did not stop until about 11:00 p.m. locked everything down, but did not like the situation.
If we were not here to see my brother and his family, I would steer way clear of this campground.

We stayed at the South Dam campsite. Spot number 6. It was a good spot with great views. Just be careful that as the sun goes down you will have little to no shade the last 3-4 hours of the day. Bathrooms and showers were usable but not great. The sites on this camping area are improved tent camping only. They do have nice level pads, a firepit/grill and picknick table on each site. We drove through all the tent camping areas around the lake the day before and South Dam and Little Sandy were the only 2 we would stay at. All the others were trashed, run down and had filthy bathrooms and showers.

Very level backed up right to the water. A nice picnic table and fire ring. The spots are close together but it was still a really nice area.

We only needed a one-night stay but I would have loved to stay longer. Arrived on a Sat night and there were lots of people, but it was still quiet and beautiful. We booked at Little Axe and unfortunately, we did not look at a map when entering the Park address on the GPS. That is for the office, which was 30+ min away from that particular campground on the other side of the lake. Since there are multiple campgrounds there, be sure to look at a map before booking online. And that is the only downside—the website is prehistoric and it takes forever and you HAVE to use it, either ahead of time to reserve a spot or once you get there.
