Our berries, fruits and vegetables are organically cultivated. The chickens are free ranging and the growth season has been extended by a newly constructed green house. Most of our casitas and cabins are heated with wood fire stoves. Eventually we would like to be totally off the grid and supply our electricity from wind and solar energy. The eco lodge is part of a recycling program and uses only use eco friendly cleaners, dish and laundry detergents. A grey water system and a large holding pond with well and acequia water are being created to irrigate our expanding Goji plantation. The Eco lodge’s water comes from four deep wells, fed by mountain aquafirs. Our historic cabins were built at the turn of the last century. All of them have been renovated and have a kitchen and bathroom. Most of our casitas and cabins are heated with wood fire stoves but also have propane stoves. This fall we hope t o install solar heating as well. The eco lodge is part of a recycling program and we use only use eco friendly cleaners, dish and laundry detergents. This history of this place is so cool! The cell service and wifi are spotty, which is a bum but this is a good place to unwind and get away from all that. In the summer, you can do a bit of garden work in exchange for fresh, organic veggies from the garden- perfect since the cabins have kitchens. And be sure to say hi to the adorable mini goats!

On September 4, I booked this a cottage for September 11, but my traveling companion contracted a very contagious communicable disease and could not fly to New Mexico. On September 9, I politely asked for leniency and this is the reply I got:

Thanks for writing. I'm sorry that you won't be able to make it. Unfortunately, we cannot cancel or refund your reservation at this time. This is very short notice, and the flipkey cancellation policy states clearly that no deposit will be refunded within four weeks of the reservation. We have not been able to rent the cabin to others because we held it in good faith for you. If you would like to come by yourself, we would love to have you. It is a very pleasant place for a personal getaway.

I will never stay at this place and do not recommend it to anyone. NO COMPASSION.
