“for when you're on the road”
"Don't be frightened off by the fact that King's (formerly known as Leo's) boasts of its gourmet meals. What's served here is Roadfood par excellence. Looking for a pair of extra-large eggs, sided by buttermilk pancakes or home fries and toast? There's no place we know for miles around that makes a better classic breakfast. If you want it dolled up, you can have a slice of grilled raspberry bread or apple bread on the side, or excellent sausage or corned beef hash. Good as the ordinary egg breakfasts are, King's is a place to eat way beyond the ordinary. The menu is huge, including a selection of malted Belgian waffles, French toast made from challah bread, cheese blintzes, potato pancakes, and a full page of "breakfast specials." These latter include the "Cape May" -- lobster and shrimp crabcakes topped with poached eggs, the "Blue Brothers" -- blueberry bread French toast AND blueberry pancakes topped with blueberry cream sauce, and the "Pumpkin Patch" -- pumpkin cinnamon bread French toast with pumpkin cream sauce. As at breakfast, lunch can be built of expectable items -- hamburgers, hot dogs (superb all-beef hot dogs!), roast turkey sandwiches, BLTs -- but there are extra-special items, too. In particular, you need to know about Bocco bread sandwiches, made on round pizza bread grilled with garlic butter and topped with a choice of eggplant, chicken, shrimp, tuna, a half-pound burger, or mixed veggies. Also notable is the New York deli wrap, a hot roll-up of pastrami and corned beef with drippy Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing ... in a tortilla (!), no less. Finally, we need to mention milk shakes and malts, made from top-quality ingredients and served in abundance, ice cold." --http://roadfood.com/Restaurant/Review/614-614/kings
