“American Choppers HQ... get country”

Orange County Choppers (OCC) is a custom and production motorcycle manufacturer based in Orange County, New York, that was founded in 1999 by Paul Teutul, Sr., and Paul Teutul, Jr. (20% ownership till 2011). The company was featured on American Chopper, a reality TV show that debuted in September 2002 on the Discovery Channel, which has contributed to the company's quick rise to fame. In 2007, Discovery Channel's sister channel TLC picked up the series in the United States and Canada. A new international headquarters designed to combine their production and retail facilities was constructed in the Town of Newburgh and opened April 24, 2008. OCC's production facility was initially located in the hamlet of Rock Tavern, it then later moved to nearby Montgomery before moving into its new headquarters in Newburgh. The company also operates a seasonal kiosk at the Woodbury Commons Outlet Mall in Central Valley, NY. OCC originally started as a sideline to his steel manufacturing business, which was founded in the 1970’s. Paul Sr began building custom motorcycles on the side as a hobby and in 1999, he founded the now world famous Orange County Choppers.

The cafe is reasonably priced and the food was delicious. The servings are large. The staff are friendly. Overall it was a great lunch. The mechanic Christian came into the cafe and was more than patient with the unsolicited attention. The shop was like a museum for the show. The merchandise is what you would expect at a price you expect. The shop tour is worth it for fans of the show. If your in the Hudson Valley area it's worth the drive.

Pretty neat place, they have a whole store with a bunch of custom bikes throughout. It's $7.50 per person for a "tour" which was a walk through the shop. You see a few guys that have been on the show with a possibility of Paul Sr. Without doing the tour, there is also a shop viewing room. Pretty neat place, hung out for a little while after the tour in the cafe and got drinks and some nachos.

This was a fun and quick trip for my family. We are not hard core fans but it was pretty cool to see all of the cool bikes. We were there for about an hour so it was a good quick stop. It has a bowling alley and restaurant. But we were there early morning.
