“graffiti spot”
91st St. was in operation as a local station from 1904 to 1959. It was closed during a system-wide platform lengthening project, to accommodate longer trains. The lengthening created an exit from the 96th Street station only three blocks further north, so it was impractical to lengthen the platforms here and the station was closed to speed service. The 91st Street station is fairly well-preserved if you disregard the graffiti and spray paint cans all over the place.
