“a proud supporter of the craft beer movement”
The Upper West Side has changed from the 1930’s. From hardscrabble working class, to a hotbed of political activism in the 60’s and 70‘s, to the family-oriented neighborhood of today. Amsterdam Ale House, tries to stay true to the warmth and familial environment of an old school pub, while adding modern touches (like air conditioning and televisions.) We serve a menu of traditional American pub fare as well as more modern and healthy dishes. We still think that a great pub menu starts with a great burger and that will never change. In addition, we serve the best hummus in the neighborhood, hormone and anti-biotic free bison burgers, a large selection of salads and, of course, a kid's menu. The Ale House is proud supporter of the craft beer movement as evidenced by our 31 draft beers featuring a constantly rotating selection of ales and lagers both locally produced and from around the globe. This is complimented by an extensive bottle list with a myriad of styles to sample. We also feature a full bar with a curated wine selection. We specialize in large groups and can make special arrangements for private parties. And if you sit on the corner of the bar, Stanley’s smiling picture still looks down on you.
