“a cup full of New Orleans' beset European traditions”
Café Beignet is a cup full of New Orleans' best European traditions. For two hundred years, New Orleanians have savored every sip of their rich coffee accompanied by delicate, crisp beignets (ben-yays). These golden squares, usually dusted with powdered confectioner's sugar, can best be described as a cross between a French pastry and an American doughnut. In New Orleans, beignets are enjoyed at a breakfast, for dessert, or any time for a special treat.
This one is on Royal Street and seems very popular with locals. I was grateful I got there early on a Monday to beat the line and grab a table. Beignets were delicious, as was the andouille sausage omelette!
Great atmosphere. Very tasty beignets, sandwiches and truly great latte! Cant beat the whole package.
Located in Music Legends Park on Bourbon St. in an outdoor seating area. Great coffee & beignets in the morning or all day long. Other food and drinks are available as well. Live entertainment most of the day. Nice spot to drop in.
The line was super long. The wait for our beignets was longer--but they were good!
Cute little hole in the wall cafe. I had a sand which and my dad had something in a bowl. It was cold in the middle and he asked for another one. But they refunded us for our entire meal, gave us free desserts and drinks, and were the friendliest people I met the whole 2 days I roamed the French quarter :) lovely place and I would highly recommend it compared to an overly busy cafe. :)
