“surrounded by rolling fields and meadows”
Nestled in the old Berkshire village of New Marlborough, The Old Inn On The Green is surrounded by rolling fields and meadows. The Old Inn, once a stagecoach relay, offers authentically restored guest rooms, fine dining in intimate candle lit dining rooms and seasonal al fresco dining on the canopied garden terrace off the taproom. Whether you are coming to the Berkshires for business or for pleasure, for dinner or for an overnight stay, come to the old Berkshire village of New Marlborough and discover The Old Inn On The Green.
The Old Inn On The Green is a hidden gem. Peter Platt (I believe is still the chef) and has an amazing knack for churning out meals welll-crafted, beautifully-presented, and DELICIOUS meals. Lots of local ingredients in the kitchen. The candle-lit dining rooms and slightly warped original wood floors make its historical ambiance apparent from the moment you walk in. If you're looking for a special-menu event they have an incredible Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner every year. While this is no "steal," you're getting your moneys worth at this Berkshire classic.
The pre-Revolutionary restaurant and candlelit inn was a popular stagecoach stop in 1760. The antique decor is streamlined and sophisticated. And incredibly cozy. There are several intimate dining room nooks with roaring fires and exceptional (local, seasonal) tasting menus. http://fathomaway.com/postcards/romance/most-romantic-hotels-us-northeast/
