“Wine Wine everywhere!”

Old North State Winery founded   in 2002 has evolved into one of the larger wineries in North Carolina and is owned and operated by Ben Webb. ONS currently grows 31 acres of grapes in two vineyards which together produce about 25% of the grapes required for our winemaking in 2013. Green Hill Vineyard, the Northern most vineyard in the Yadkin Valley, is planted in Vinifera grapes Riesling and Malbec. Sandy Cross Vineyards, located in Nash County in eastern NC, is the main source for our Carlos, Nobel, and Magnolia Muscadines.  The ONS tasting bar is open 7 days a week and typically is pouring between 12-15 wines daily! Hopefully everyone will be able to find a wine they enjoy among our hand crafted wines.  ONS operates the Downtown Deli in our Tasting Room to serve our guest lunch and dinner entrées that are fresh and healthy prepared to order including a southern influenced Tapas dinner menu. After work Tapas special are week days from 4 pm to 6 pm featuring 2 selections of the Tapas menu at half price and daily wine specials.  ONS showcases local entertainment with an open mic every Wednesday night hosted by Joel Woodson, free live entertainment every Thursday night starting at 8, and at least one “Band Party” a month. Located in Downtown Mount Airy, ONS creates a great location to watch the best area musicians perform in a laid back atmosphere.  Old North State’s winemaker Nick McCrary has been making wines for over a decade in NC and VA, so come taste the fruits of his labor! ONS is a state of the art facility allowing the complete winemaking process to happen in downtown Mount Airy. From the time the grape is crushed it is treated gently in an oxygen free environment to ensure the best quality wines possible. ONS uses American and French oak barrels and has the ability to bottle 2.5 cases a minute. Tours are available after a wine tasting.
