Confirmed by 6 users | Last reported on March 22, 2022Morganton Point Recreation Area is on the shore of beautiful Lake Blue Ridge in Morganton, GA (just outside of Blue Ridge, GA). The campground is small, but really pretty. This was originally a tent only campground, and the sites have been reworked to accommodate RVs. There may be one or two spots that a big rig can make it into, but most sites would not accommodate a large camper.
Our site was pretty level. The pad for the camper was bordered by large boulders. There was plenty of room to position a camper, but the BPQ was a little high given the consequences of getting a little too far in one direction or the other.
Morganton Point is water and electric only. We used the bath house for showers, and it was one of the nicer bath houses we've used. Clean and modern. Easy walk from most sites. Hosts were helpful and visible. Quiet park overall.
We loved the lakefront view, and the sites were well spaced - our site felt private but not isolated. Lots and lots of shade. Lake Blue Ridge is one of the prettiest lakes we've seen. We'll definitely be back!

First of all, I want to warn you about the price. As of Sept 16, 2018, the CFAIA website shows it as $18. There is no designation at this time about tent vs. RV. In fact, the only other options are group campsites and a double campsite. We were surprised to find out upon arrival that our regular single site was $27. This is not clear online, so it was a lesson to me that I should always call ahead. We showed the camp host the web site, but he was not swayed.
We did get water and 30/50 electricity for that price. The campground was clean and quiet. We checked in on a Friday. The campground staff take their jobs very seriously, which I appreciate. The host followed us to our site to collect our fee, and he drove by about 35 times during our one-night stay. ;) When we went to check out the day area (which was very nice), another staff member pulled us over and questioned our motives (in a friendly manner).
Site 15 was not totally level, but I'm sure other sites were better as we saw a Class A and a large Fifth Wheel in the park. The roads are paved, but the sites are gravel. We had a fire ring and picnic table at our site. We could definitely see our neighbors, but there was a decent bit of space between sites. If you tent camp in the farthest loop, you will probably not see your neighbors at all.
There are two bathhouses that I saw. I didn't shower, so I can't tell you about that, but the large bathhouse was very nice. The dump station was clean with potable water and a dumpster for household trash.
There seems to be plenty of lake access, and the day area offers a swimming beach, paddleboard rentals, and picnic tables.

Stayed 5/24 & 5/25/19. Would have given 4 starts but privacy for our site was just ok. The grounds, bathrooms and dump-station were all very well taken care of. The camp host was very nice, arrived shortly after we settled in and said he would deliver fire wood or ice if we needed it. Site was level and easy to back into. As mentioned, privacy was not great in most sites in that you would view at least 2 or more campers. However, the following sites have potential with being closest to the lake or on the lake with only views of forest and water in front of them, 6, 9 & 30 (in order or preference). We would come again and try and get 6 or 9, but 30 would do. Police passed through 2 - 3X a day.
Right on lake Blue Ride, close to the nice little town of Blue Ridge and lots of hiking. Cell phone service as great (phone calls, texts and internet), although didn't record what type of service.

We stayed over July 4 weekend and had a terrific time. Site 27 was tricky for our pop up to park and level with a 25 foot 30amp power cable to plug in at the edge of the site. While the site offered some privacy, it wasn't very level. Some of the campground roads could use some attention on the potholes, but no big deal. There is a boat ramp and beach area just outside the campground. Ingles is less than 10 minutes away and a Dollar General is only 3 or so minutes away. Bathrooms and sites were clean and well maintained by the campground hosts and staff.

Quiet; bathrooms are really clean. Site 18 is next to the bathhouse with a little field behind it. Great for families. Being next to the bathhouse is convenient, but does draw a lot of traffic. There are other sites that would be better. Staff is pretty nice; they will bring you ice & firewood if asked. Overall, great experience.

Relaxing and quiet. Sites are decently spaced out. Firewood and ice is available for pick up or delivery to your site. Just be careful getting here. My GPS told me wrong and I ended up on some roads I had no business on. I was lucky to have gotten back on track without incident.

I wrote my last review before I should have. Site 21 ended up being loud. I would stay in a different site but 22 had traffic I’m and out constantly and there were noisy people with noisy kids.
Sites closer to the lake seemed quieter and nicer.

This is a relatively small campground that is in a wooded area right on a beautiful lake. It is very quiet and well maintained. Site 5 is excellent. It adjacent to the lake, level and relatively private. The bath house is impeccably maintained with great showers. There are hiking trails, a boat launch and swimming area that we would have loved to explore, but we were just passing thru. The host was very nice and checked us in quickly and also offered to deliver ice or wood to our site. It would be great to spend several days here.

Few level sites, but widely separated mostly. No usable RV sites beyond site 30. Quarter mile trail to the sandy beach swimming area near site #1. Leads to "The Point" snack shack and rental of kayaks and paddle boards. Many campers brought their boats and tie up on Blue Ridge Lake adjoining their camp site.

Get site 06 LL! We pulled up our 25ft coach and looked to our right. The lake was right there! Beautiful site and nice quiet campground. Power and water at the site and dump station as you leave. This was our first time out in our new RV and I'm not sure how it gets better. Sun would set right in front of us over the lake. I would highly recommend
