“Kampgrounds of America”
This award-winning, peaceful KOA lies along the Oregon Trail, halfway between Salt Lake City and Yellowstone National Park. Also a great location for a stop on your way to Grand Teton National Park and Jackson Hole. Settle back in a tree-shaded site, lulled by the trickle of the creek that runs through the campground.Drop a lure into the creek (fishing license required). Your dog will love the fenced-in dog park and a walk along the nature trail. Let the kiddos play on the playground and swing set. Come splash in our new pool! Play a few rounds of pickleball or shoot some basketball hoops on the new court. We've got disk golf, connect four, ping pong, pool, giant checkers and horse shoes. Enjoy our full hook-up RV sites or pitch a tent. No RV or tent? Stay in a Cabin on the creek. Or, go "glamping" in a Deluxe Cabin with a full bath/linen service. Come enjoy a few nights and visit Bear Lake we are only 18 miles for the north shore beach. The National Oregon/California Trail Center provides an amazing look at the pioneer experience. For adventure today, you can explore ATV trails (four wheeler, side-by-side, motorcycle, etc..), bird-watch at Bear Lake National Wildlife Refuge or head underground to Minnetonka Cave. If the creek doesn't prove enough for your fishing soul head just a few miles up the canyon and fish away on Montpelier reservoir. Hunters welcome! Deer, elk, crain, ect.. hunters love to make Montpelier KOA their base camp. Easy access if you are hunting in Diamond Creek or any of Unit 76.

Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on May 16, 2023This KOA is run down and did not seem like a KOA. The office was in disarray and smelled musty. Looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in some time. There’s vegetation growing all over the gravel roads and pads, weeds, and a junk pile in the campground. We did not use any facilities. The staff was nice, our site was level and had a small concrete patio, so I gave it 2 stars; we would not stay here again.

At one time this was a nice little campground and could be again. It needs a lot of attention in the way of cleaning, pruning and removal of old junk cars and mower's. They do have two dog parks one is large enough to throw a ball. Nice little trout creek runs through the property but signs say stay off the banks and out of the water. Management was very nice.

The park was ok in looks and cleanliness. But. There were so many rigs parked in so many directions that it was a bit of a nightmare to get in and out. People had to back a long way to get out of their site in their cars and trucks. I think they are renting to too many large rigs in a park that doesn’t support them size wise.

We were hesitant to pull in, but the national forest campgrounds up the canyon are closed for the season. Unlike previous reviews, we found a clean and well kept KOA with lots of recent enhancements.

This is a wonderful place. The couple that runs it are working non-stop! Very impressive!
This KOA looks nothing like the pictures. It’s the worst KOA we have ever been to and we will not be back. This campground is in serious need of repair - weeds everywhere, very little gravel in the roadways, the office is dirty and smelly and washers and dryers out of service.
