“renewing the foundations of American liberty”
Founded in 1995, the American Village serves the Nation as an educational institution whose mission is to strengthen and renew the foundations of American liberty and self-government by engaging and inspiring citizens, leaders and stewards. Summer at the American Village provides a unique opportunity for visitors to step back in time and become part of the great American journey for independence and self-government. Our summer program consists of a daily schedule of historical vignettes scheduled every 30 minutes. Visitors may interact with people of the past such as Patrick Henry or Dolley Madison. You may even be conscripted into George Washington’s Continental Army! You may choose one or all programs throughout the day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Don’t miss the Revolution! Experience the life of a patriot, meet the men and women who helped America gain our independence and frame the documents for self-government and liberty for all.
