The Church Street Graveyard contains above-ground tombs and monuments spread over 4 acres (2 ha) and was founded in 1819, during the height of yellow fever epidemics. The Boyington Oak is said to be haunted by the man who grave it is over. Legend has it that he was executed for a crime he didn't commit and vowed that an Oak tree would grow over his grave to prove this.
