Known far and wide for its "Oyster—fried, stewed or nude," Wintzell's Oyster House was founded in 1938 by Oliver Wintzell. Through economic boom and bust Wintzell's has been continuously at its original location on Lower Dauphin Street. Wintzell's Oyster House was also featured on Season 4 of Man vs. Food! Wintzell's Oyster House has been serving seafood dishes to the Gulf Coast for 75 years. Our famous oysters have earned us praise far and wide. Had some fried oysters, along with a pretty big bloody Mary. All the random sayings on the wall are fun to read.
Also, oysters are free to any 85 year old man who can bring in his father.
