“one of the most haunted places in Indiana”

In the small city of Mitchell, Indiana is a gorgeous Victorian home with a dark secret. Dating back to the late 1800s, Whispers Estate has gained a reputation for being one of the most paranormally active houses in America...and they want you to come spend the night.  Whispers Estate got its name for a good reason. The 3,700 square-foot home has long been famous among ghost hunters who swear that the building's former residents have a habit of whispering things in the ears of visitors. This has occurred so much, in fact, that seekers of the supernatural regularly flock to the estate in search of an experience. Around Christmas day in 1912, Rachael Gibbons, the adopted daughter of Dr. John and Jessie Gibbons, decided to sneak downstairs and take a peek at the presents waiting for her under the tree. In the process, she wound up knocking over an open flame, causing a fire to break out. While the blaze was quickly handled, Rachel had been badly burned and succumbed to her injuries just two days later. It's Rachael's spirit that many guests believe they've interacted with. Those looking to chase some spirits are welcome to book themselves an overnight stay at Whispers Estate, but you should know that there aren't typical rooms available. Rather, Renier encourages curious visitors to bring a sleeping bag and spend the night on watch for the spooky happenings. Hey, we all know you weren't going to sleep anyway. -Roadtrippers The Whispers Estate is considered to be one of the most haunted places in Indiana. It is a Victorian designed home that is a total of 3,700 square feet located in the city called "Mitchell". The paranormal experiences documented by the employees, guests, and locals have been covered on numerous media venues. Travel Channel's ‘Most Terrifying Places in America’ vol 5, AND ‘Most Terrifying Places in America’ Top 13. The SyFy Channel's show called "Children of the Grave" highlighted the home, as well as a radio show called "Ghostly Talk". The DVD called "Ghost Stories 2: Unmasking the Dead" also highlighted this structure. In this guide on the paranormal, you will learn about the notable hauntings that are said to occur at Whispers Estate.

The cool thing about Whispers Estate is that yes, you can book an overnight stay here, but it won't be the kind of overnight stay that you're used to. If you've ever been in a big old haunted hotel, you know that you can't exactly go wandering around in search of ghosts all night without getting the stink eye. Here, your booking doesn't get you a room, it doesn't get you bed, and it doesn't get you a shower. It gets you access to the building for a whole night, because you're not here to sleep - you're here to ghost hunt.

Generally the nights run from 8pm to 6am but you have to call ahead to schedule your stay. If you have a group of less than 10 with you, you might very well be saddled up with another team, so consider booking the whole place and bringing lots of friends if you want to investigate on your own.
