The Stone Arch Bridge is a former railroad bridge crossing the Mississippi River at Saint Anthony Falls in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. Built in 1882-83 by James J. Hill's Minneapolis Union Railway Company, the Stone Arch Bridge is recognized as a National Civil Engineering Landmark. In 1994 the bridge was converted into a pedestrian and bike trail and offers a panoramic view of St. Anthony Falls. Named winner of 2008 Best Place to Take Out-of-Town Guests in City Pages' ''Best of the Twin Cities.''

I was absolutely consumed by Stonearch Bridge! I ended up moving less than a mile away from it. There is this adorable little strip next to the river prior to the bridge filled with a little movie theater & many places to shop & eat & patios to enjoy the breathtaking view while doing so. I always called it the calm with in the chaos. It was hard to believe that you were in the midst of the big city with a view like that, all the noise went away and u would just enjoy the rushing of the falls. If you have time I suggest taking a kayak tour with (Above the falls water sports) my guides name was Earl, a man with a true passion for life. they have very reasonable rates and u get to go on the Mississippi right downtown, which I believe to be the best view of the city & enjoy the back story on the falls and how the city was built...
