“2 presidents, 2 governors, 2 first ladies”
Welcome to the childhood world of our 43rd President, George W. Bush, and his remarkable family. The mission of the George W. Bush Childhood Home, Inc., is to express and interpret the history of one of America’s great families by telling the story of the Bush Family and the childhood of George W. Bush in Midland, Texas, and celebrating the lives of two presidents, two governors, and two first ladies.
We came on a Sunday right before they opened. We couldn’t stay long because we were just passing through. Cute neighborhood , cute little house. Must see if you’re driving through Midland, Tx.
Cute place! Small, well kept. Was cool to be somewhere so historic! Be sure to go before 4:30! They end their tours before that time.
Being able to walk into a childhood home of a former president is amazing. Everything inside the home was from the time period and approved by the family. The dedication and time that has been put into keeping the house accurate is amazing. It's like taking a step back in time. Also the guide told my kids if they were good they could pick out a book from their library. They loved that.
Tour guide was FULL of information. The house was kind of neat, had a lot of displays and reading material. Not many of the items in the home are actually the family's though, just from that time period and what was "more than likely" there, or recreated from what the family described. But still kind of neat, we did learn a lot.
