On September 25, 1949, George Groumoutis was born to his parents, KostaDenos & Triandafali Groumoutis, in a smal village called Panagitsa tucked high in the Grecian Mountains. At the age of 13, George gave up sheparding sheep and packed his things and headed for Athens. Once there, George found a job and sent all of his earnings to his family at the village. At 16, he left Athens and moved to Canada to be with his 0 dest sister, Athena. After three years of working in a factory, George chose to fulfill his lifelong dream: to be in America. He joined his younger sister, Maria, where she was living in Burlngton, Iowa. George acquired his first American job washing dishes at a pizza parlor. George's fellow employees taught him the Eng ish language and how to make his first pizza
