Hubs and I have spent many nights in the park over a period of years. There are no fancy amenities, but there is a dog walk area, playground and the laundry and bathrooms are clean. Sites are level but can be muddy after a heavy rain. Management is cooperative. It's best to have a reservation. Close to shopping. Easy access from I-57.

Stayed one night on way to Austin TX. Called ahead around 1pm. Friendly person took info and reserved a pull through full hookup site. Met all our needs for the evening.

We stayed here last week after a 12 hour travel day. Both making a reservation and checking in was very easy. The owners were very pleasant and helpful and have long office hours - 7 am to 6 pm. I had called to let them know that we wouldn’t make it by 6 but when we pulled in they were still in the office. The site was a nice pull thru - very straightforward to access. There was some road noise at night.

Adequate campground with full hookups, cable TV, decent WiFi. Verizon and AT&T cellular bandwidth varied: sometimes adequate for streaming, sometimes at a crawl. The lady who checked us in was friendly and accommodating. Some road noise from the elevated highway near the campground.

Our problem with this campground was with the owner. We arrived on a Sunday and set up our 4-foot dog fence around the entrance to our camper as we always do, and no one said anything to us. Monday morning as I walked one of our dogs (on-leash), the owner drove up and told me we had to take the fence down, that it violated their "always on leash" policy. There was nothing in the rules about dog fences, and every campground we'd ever been to with strict leash rules had permitted the fencing. So I tried to make the point that we used it solely to get the dogs out of the camper safely and securely, but he insisted that's what leashes were for, and he seemed to take offense when I suggested he make the no-fencing rule clear for future campers (because we would have picked a different campground had we known).

My father-in-law was staying at a different site in the campground with his own camper and dog fence, and he and the owner had a similar if more argumentative conversation, where the owner told him he had an hour to take down the fence or he would be kicked out.

We both took down the respective fences down and dealt with it for the remainder of our week-long stay. But we noticed that one camper (it looked like it belonged to a long-term resident) had a dog fence up at their camper, and throughout the week we saw a number of dogs off-leash, yet no one made a fuss.

So I would not call our stay a pleasant one, and we won't be going back.

Marion Campground and RV Park. Marion, Il. This is a great campground. Right off 57. Pam that checked us in was Great, militarily discount, very friendly. Has a little bar with an outdoor area. Happy Hour $1.50 for Select beers on Saturday night. We had a Stag which I had never had but quite refreshing. Has outdoor seating with cornhole. Owner Gary was very nice!! Will stop again when in the area. Few cigarette butts at site but we aren’t the most picky people.

The facility was clean and obviously well cared for. Trash wasn’t littered anywhere and the sites were simple but nice. The people working there were polite and kept a close watch on the comings/goings of everyone.
My son said there wasn’t a restroom he could easily find but did find the shower area.
The office has a bar/video games area for adults that want to relax.
Close to interstate but not loud. Also, lots of amenities nearby.
WiFi was really poor and not easy to connect with.

Second time staying here. Easy access , on and off I-57.
Sites are close but enough space to open slides.
Pull through accommodated 40’ SuperC and towed Jeep.
Utilities work, WiFi worked.
Only negative, traffic noise from I-57 is extremely loud, all night.

Stayed about a week to visit relatives. Clean and accommodating. Small bar for happy hour. Nearby shopping and fuel. We would stay there again. Only drawback was it could use more playground stuff for kids. Has a shelter for outdoor parties. Easy access.
