“one of Vermont's finest waterfalls”
This is a great waterfall, easily one of Vermont's finest! The trail is completely straightforward. 2.3 miles to the falls, gaining about 800-900 feet in elevation, then losing about 200' to the falls. The climb is very steady and only mildly steep in a couple of places. At the falls there is little to do other than look at the falls. There is an unprotected overlook near the base of the falls, and a short rough path leading to the rocky streambed. The view alone is worth the effort. I've seen several published reports of the falls being about 100' tall. I think this figure is quite inaccurate, I'm inclined to suggest that the drop is more like 160. Reviews
The falls were worth the hike. Terrain is rocky for a good portion. Found plenty of parking of Lye Brook service road. Enough for 20 cars are so. Path is narrow in many places so glad it wasn't crowded.
Not easily accessible from US-7. No where to pull off safely.
