“known for the best hot dogs since 1919”
Walter's Hot Dog stand first opened in 1919. Little did Walter Warrington realize back in the early 1900s that his "split" hot dog would be called "the best Hot Dog in the world". Split down the middle, grilled in secret sauce and served on a toasted bun with homemade mustard. Walter's Hot Dogs have become a culinary delight to four generations of patrons. The Hot Dogs and mustard are still prepared according to Walter's unique recipes, protected under trade secret agreements. The building itself is an eye-catching, free standing, copper roofed Chinese pagoda built in 1928. It was declared a historical landmark in 1991 and listed on the Country Inventory- though it still houses the best hot dogs!
