Banyan Bed And Breakfast Retreat

The Banyan Bed and Breakfast Retreat, originally built in 1927, is located in a quiet, rural upcountry Maui setting. Our accommodations include the historic plantation house with three large bed rooms/ suites as well as 4 individual, spacious cottages. All cottages and suites include a private bath and kitchen/ kitchenette. Large banyan, monkeypod and jacaranda trees create a peaceful, shady oasis amidst the many fruit trees, flowers and sunny, wide open lawns. Several swings and hammocks hang from the trees offering comfortable private places around our 2.1 acre property. Our 50' swimming pool and Jacuzzi is for the private use of our guests. A continental breakfast featuring fresh fruit, muffins and juice is served every morning to guests of the individual cottages and suites. The 3 bed room plantation house (which can be configured as a 2, 3 or 4 bed room house) has a spacious living room area, commercial type kitchen, dining room, and large enclosed porch. There is a stand alone handicap accessible full bath in the plantation house. In addition the 2 bed room, 2 bath Sue's Cottage is fully handicap accessible. The Banyan Tree House Retreat is a half hour drive from Kahului airport. We are 7 miles from Maui's North Shore beaches. We are located at the 1,500 ft. elevation on the slopes of 10,000 ft. Haleakala Mountain, a spectacular one hour drive to the top of Haleakala. Stretching from Haiku through Makawao and Pukalani to Kula, Maui's upcountry is a unique blend of old time Hawaii with pineapple fields, sprawling cattle ranches, breath taking ocean and island views. The Banyan Bed & Breakfast Retreat has an ideal central island location for touring Maui. A half mile from the Banyan Tree House is the historic cowboy town and favorite local hangout of Makawao. Shops, restaurants, art galleries, food and health stores, spas, library and more can all be found in this friendly little town. 7 miles down the hillside from the Banyan B&B is the historic sugar town of Paia. Internationally known for surfing and windsurfing, Paia town is central to Ho'okipa, Spreklesville and Baldwin beaches.
