“A place for remembrance”
The Wisconsin Veterans Museum commemorates, acknowledges, and affirms the role of Wisconsin veterans in America’s military past by means of instructive exhibits and other educational programs. The Wisconsin Veterans Museum began as a formal effort to protect the Union’s most prized possessions—Battle flags carried by Civil War heroes. These early veterans knew the importance of remember and honor sacrifice. For over one hundred years, the Wisconsin Veterans Museum has been connecting the past to the present by honoring the memory of Wisconsin veterans and the role they played in shaping this nation’s history. What we have here is truly a national treasure. The stories of brave military men and women---uncensored and made available to the public.
