“tucked in the blue ridge mountains!”
The Blue Ridge Mountains seem to roll on forever from the vantage point of this wonderfully rural yet convenient campground, nested atop a high hill above the Shenandoah Valley. Cruise along the famed Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park, just a few miles away, or explore the park's countless hiking trails. Nearby outfitters rent canoes and tubes for floating the Shenandoah River. This KOA is close to Luray Caverns and offers easy access to several Civil War sites, including New Market Battlefield State Historical Park and Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. The campground's spacious grounds include shady sites, a pool and a ball field. The on-site restaurant serves up breakfast on weekends and homemade pizza fresh from its wood-fired brick oven. Pool: Memorial Weekend - Labor Day Weekend. Max pull thru: 85 feet. Your hosts: Erich & Shulamit Schumacher.

GREAT DOG park. Some people may want more for what is charged, but the well taken care of park and the quiet was worth it to us.

Lovely, meticulously maintained, and very quiet campground near Shenandoah National Park. We were here midweek right after Memorial Day, and the campground was fairly empty. Not typical of KOAs in that there aren't a lot of amenities and activities here; there are two pools, a small playground, and an outdoor ping pong table, but no planned activities and no camp store. Beautifully landscaped, friendly staff, bathhouses nice and super clean. All of the sites are situated around a big central field. We sprung for one of the deluxe patio sites directly on the field. In retrospect, we would have saved a few dollars and gotten a regular site. The patio sites are very nice, but kind of a pain to get in and out of. Easy drive to the Shenandoah NP entrance.

Really loved this place! Very nice sites, level, large with full hook-ups, pool, the office looks like a lobby of a Holiday Inn, breakfast is served with a little extra $. The campground is surrounded by farms, very quiet, and just minutes from Downtown Luray, Caverns, and Shenandoah National Park. We even visited Washington D.C. which was about an hour an half away. Great Wi-fi, terrific staff! Good cell phone service! There is a Wallmart, CVS pharmacy, and lots of local restaurants only a few miles away.

This is one of the most beautiful KOAs we've stayed in. It is expensive but there is not a lot of competition. It is located in the country and there is a cow farm right next door. They visited us often and at times, especially at night, the aroma was pretty strong. Being in the country, however, it is quiet. The park has pretty landscaping and lots of mature trees. There are views of the mountains but not from all sites. In general, the sites are long and graveled with a small bit of space between them. Due to narrow interior roads, some are tricky to get into with larger RVs. A few sites slope up to the flat part on top and would only work for smaller units. There are also some pull thru, end to end sites which have more privacy. Each site has a concrete patio with two adirondack chairs, a fire pit, and picnic table. All of the outdoor furniture is clean and in like-new condition. We had Directv coverage in our site as the line of site was between two trees. Verizon coverage 4g and 2 bars. The park gets two main dings. The WII FI is painfully slow, and we gave up on it. For the price paid, the WII FI should be screaming fast and reliable. Also, the park is down a narrow-ish road to a narrow entrance. We had to be very careful to avoid obstacles and tree limbs. Also, there is a rather steep hill up to the campground. It appears to be wide enough for one RV at a time. I'm not sure who wins in a game of chicken!

This is one of KOA's better parks, & as full time RVers for 5 years we have stayed at many KOA's. Level, solid shale sites, FHU's with reasonable height for sewer connection. Well manicured & maintained, large enclosed pavilion with BBQ area, clean pool, playgrounds, ping pong table, billiard room. Cabins & yurts available. Site spacing is OK, close but not on top of each other. Staff is very helpful with info on local activities. Typical high rates consistent with KOA's.

We used this as a safe overnight stop. Called ahead and booked a pull thru. She was not sure if we would fit connected 60ft but we did. We pulled in late and she left wood with our name on it at check in. AT&T tested at over 50MB per sec. Verizon was dismal 4MB at best.

Wonderfully laid out - our site was a corner site adjacent two large fields. Very private. ATT cell signal strong. Couldn’t get WiFi though. One of the nicest campgrounds we’ve stayed at. Would highly recommend!

Our visit to the Luray Spacious Skies Campground was lovely. The campground is clean, quiet, and well cared for. Sites are good sizes and big rigs had plenty of room. Staff is friendly and helpful. Our dog loved the enormous dog run. Beautiful sunsets occur over the surrounding mountains and are best enjoyed at the top of the hill, just above the pool and office. We had a terrific fall stay and we were nicely located to Skyline Drive & Shenandoah National Park. I would give the campground 5/5 stars but the WiFi that is available is unreliable. Working remotely with heavy downloads are not recommended without another option. My AT&T hotspot was great. The campground’s WiFi router could use a regular reboot to provide a better signal.
