“Country Inn and Spa”
Located in the quaint and charming town of Los Olivos, Fess Parker Wine Country Inn & Spa provides the perfect refuge from your daily routine. With elegance and an unsurpassed attention to detail, our luxurious accommodations allow you to relax and rejuvenate while you explore the surrounding Santa Barbara Wine Country. The estate vineyard, named in honor of Fess’s late son-in-law, was the first vineyard developed, and it surrounds the winery. With a total of 118 acres planted — approximately 31 acres on the valley floor, and the balance on the expansive upper mesa behind the winery — this vineyard provides the foundation of our Rhone wine program and has already produced several award winning Syrah and Viognier bottlings.
So different than the usual luxurious night sleeps we had the latest period, the Fess Parker's Winery is an extraordinary place to spend your weekend, especially if you are visiting the winery of Santa Barbara.
The rooms are fantastic, super clean and modern and offer you views to the planted acres. The staff is fantastic and very helpful.
Do not forget tasting the wine while being there!
The Traveling Winers on Santa Barbara Wine Trail
Fess Parker, the famous actor that played the characters of Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone, is the man behind Fess Parker Winery & Vineyard in Los Olivos, California. Mr. Parker passed away about four years ago, but his wines live on through continued ownership of the business by family members.
When you pull up into the property you see this vast area of green….green lawn that seems to continue on and on, the surrounding vineyards (well, dormant when we were there, but the imagination can take you to green in the Spring), and surrounding trees and mountains. They have a huge wrap-around patio with plenty of outdoor furniture to sit and enjoy the view and peacefulness. On our visit, the trusty family vineyard dog had plopped himself down almost directly in the middle of this vast lawn and appeared to be relaxing, taking in the sun, and perhaps even protecting the property from afar. Definitely a place to bring a picnic lunch and stay a spell.
The Traveling Winers (that’s us!) all very much enjoyed our visit to Fess Parker and would recommend this as a good stop on your wine trail. I bet they wouldn’t even mind if you brought a Frisbee to toss around and utilize that big, beautiful lawn of theirs! Go enjoy a glass and buy a bottle at this nostalgic winery.
