“Panoramic views of the lake”
The landmark Townsend home, built in 1903, has been gently and carefully transformed into a restaurant by Robert and Suzanne Stack. Two downstairs lake-facing rooms have been converted into one cozy ten table dining room with panoramic views of Seneca Lake, while the more private library with its table for ten not only has water views but a wall of 300 cookbooks and another with shelves housing Suzanne's collection of Provençal pottery. Parties of eight or ten also have the option of dining at the 9 foot farmtable handcrafted from 100 year old pine. This is set in a room adjoining the main dining room and offers privacy as well as country elegance. Four bistro tables on the front porch afford diners a chance to savor both Suzanne's signature regional dishes and lake breezes. Diners are invited to enjoy the beauty of the 100-acre farm as well. There's a gazebo sitting alongside a lovely pond, a brook that winds through the property and three barns in excellent condition, all beckon during a post- or pre-dining stroll around the grounds of the old peach orchard.
