Our trailer is a 27ft airstream and I didn’t opt for the first or second spot we came across. Instead I went for something I saw from satallite that looked promising. However, there are a lot of erosion hills that I did not see, so once we were past the point of being able to turn around, we had to get creative and use our leveling blocks to raise the rear wheels and not completely drag the rear end when passing over these mini mountains. About a mile in, there is a site that we decided worked for two reasons. One, we can turn around here. Two, it’s a bout dark. So after backing in and dropping some blocks to level the ole girl out, we have a home for the night. In the future I will take one of the two first spots, and not venture this far in with our big girl. If you have a high clearance setup or are overlanding come on back in, beautiful spots await. But if your in an RV or longer travel trailer take those first spots!
Access five stars for the first two spots. Anything past that 2...
Location, I’m torn, it’s amazing back here. And if we were just in our tow vehicle with the roof top tent! I am sure In a short drive the vistas would be outstanding!!!
Cleanliness... it’s kinda a desert... so it’s desert clean... there are cows about...
Site quality. Nothing really level... get creative,
Noise... only thing we heard all night, was the occasional plane passing over. Very peaceful this far back on the trail.
Cell service was two bars 3g this far in...

We were tent camping, driving a Honda CR-V. We chose to pass the first two sites right by the highway (looked great, easy access). We drove a little over a mile in—very bumpy/rocky, but worth it if your car can handle it. It was beautiful and totally quiet, we were very happy. Cons: tons of broken glass, a couple used needles; and we would have cowboy camped except for the biting ants! Would stay here again

Got shut down from camping in Snow Canyon out if St George. I had stopped at the Virgin River Recreation area that charges 8 bucks to camp a couple weeks ago. Nice spot... but I was on a mission to not pay for camp sites on this 2 week trip and so far... this was my last night and had accomplished that in 6 states.
I pulled in and could see that there was another van there... but the spot had a big semi- flat lot, so it was all good. Slept in the back of my truck bed, which was already to go and I was tired from the driving and extra work to find a new spot. Slept really well all through the night and hit the road eatlyvthe next day.

After six days of camping here, a BLM ranger knocked on my trailer door and evicted me. He said there is no camping within 1/4 mile from water (Virgin River). I was camped in the second camp area off Cedar Pocket Rd, before the road gets rough and hilly. I commented that where I am looks to be more than a 1/4 mile, however he maintained I was not. Moreover, there is a rancher who has grazing rights here, and the ranger told me if the rancher complains about me being here, I will be fined. So, this might still be a good place for an overnight, but not for very long.
(PS: Now that I think about it, I don't believe this was a BLM ranger, but just some disgruntled camp host from the other side of I-15, at Virgin River Recreation Area & Campground. On the day that I was kicked out, that campground was to shut down for renovation, and I believe the camp host was going to be kicked out of there. So, I think he knocked on my door pretending to be some kind of authority, just to get me to leave and open up a site for himself.)

I’m from Texas and we have nothing like BLM public land. This is a dream come true!
Camped out here while passing through on a road trip from California to Texas. Perfect. Beautiful view of the mountains.
Dry, pretty even road (bumpy) but my hyuandi Elantra got me there.
Make sure you take the cedar pocket road that is north of highway 15 - head OPPOSITE of where the posted recreation signs are posted. I imagine you’ll have to pay a fee there.
Free to camp on the north side! You’ll see a sign that says BLM. Was only me out here on a random Wednesday.

Honda Fit Sport, low clearance and 2WD. My wife and I are tent camping on a multi day road trip. Stayed at the end of the 2nd big pull off north of the road. Quiet Wednesday night with nobody else. Could barely hear the interstate even though it's within sight. You can keep going further in the canyon if you want but hear it gets rocky. Quiet a few ant hills, very dry. Only a handful of completely flat spots to place a tent. Would definitely camp here again, plenty of room for big RVs if that's your style!

We came in after sunset, but its very easy to find. If you pull up the area on maps and look at the satellite view, you can see a couple possible small sites on the left when you pull in. We passed those and went for the first big, open area. *See photo*
We were the only ones that parked on that site when we went to bed, but someone else had shown up during the night. There were a few more people that had traveled down further, as well.
It was dark and a little rough for a tent, so we just slept in the car. There were surprisingly a lot of semis that passed on the main road, but it wasn’t too noisy. Would stay here again.

This location is quite serene. You get a little bit of ATV traffic on the weekends, but we didn't experience anything that would keep us from returning when we visited in January 2021. The sites available as you pull in are large and easy to spot. If you go further up the mountain, you'll find even more private locations, but the road was a bit dicey for our fifth wheel. Unfortunately, we did run into quite a bit of trash left by others who had previously camped here.

Stayed there 1 night after Christmas. There was one other trailer camped nearby. Quiet spot, noise from Interstate was not noticeable. We camped with our 34ft TT at the last turnout on the left before the canyon starts - probably the best spot in the area. Do not go further with a larger trailer, as the gravel road narrows.
There were a few cars stopping and turning around in the late evening on the lower parking lot right after the Interstate exit.
No AT&T signal there.
Take your time to hike up the road, explore the canyons behind - there are Joshua trees and fantastic hiking trails!

This place exceeded our expectations! This spot is right off the freeway; but far enough away that there is no noise. We arrived here in the dark so we loved how easy it was to find a level spot. Plenty of spots with a lot of fire pits. Throughout the week there were maybe 3-4 other campers in the area but none very close to us. Lots of room and far enough away to not feel bad to run our generator at 8am!
The cliffs nearby were fun to hike on and St. George was only 20 minutes away- perfect for day trips, groceries, and potable water. Excellent cell coverage as well for working from home!
We will definitely stay again!
