“1st commercial pretzel bakery in America”
Founded in 1861, the Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery is the first commercial pretzel bakery in America. Help us celebrate our 150th anniversary this year! Tour the original bakery, get a hands-on lesson in pretzel twisting, and taste the results of 150 years of pretzel baking heritage.
The place really looks old but it's neat. There was a quick tour about how and where the pretzels made and the history of the place itself. The pretzels they make here is actually baked at traditional way on how people back in centuries bake pretzels and it was interesting. There's a gift shop where you can buy samples and the prices are reasonable. Dutch pretzels are the must haves.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME... extremely disappointed and NOT worth spending time to drive to that place. Employees huddled together and did not acknowledge the customers. The pretzels were horrible tasting and ours came right from the oven.
Great hands on informative tour, takes about 30 mins. Right in the original old pretzel factory and house where they began. Excellent hot pretzels for sale and lots of other food items too. Loved it!
Pretty cool little tour.
