Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on October 06, 2021We planned our trip to the White Mountains that we'd be out of connectivity, and narrowed in on selecting one of the six campgrounds along the Kancamagas Highway (Highway 112).
This campground is right outside of Lincoln and we were super surprised to see a whiff of Verizon signal that was quite usable. The RV/trailer part of the campground has plenty of room for most sized RVs. The sites are spacious and well maintained.
Would recommend going around the first major bend to get away from the highway noise if you can. But arriving late afternoon during peak season you may not have much option.
We checked out many of the other forest service campgrounds along The Kanc, and they are all pretty similar. Nicely spread out sites in a forest setting - and all first come first serve. Since this one had Verizon signal, it worked for us.
No hook-ups, and strict generator hours of only a few hours a day. So come prepared. Our site had just enough sun to keep our batteries topped up on solar.

We stayed at Hancock for three nights in May amid the Coronavirus. Hancock was the only campground open at the time. Despite being the only campground open it was quiet even when the campground filled. The campground is located right on the river and We could hear the river from our site! All sites are first come first serve, but there are plenty of sites and it looked like all sites would be easy to back a trailer into. The campground has vault toilets and flush toilets, however during our stay the flush toilets were closed for repair. The campground hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay again.

Hancock Campground offers dry camping with limited generator use; we have a Winnebago Travato GL so all Lithium therefore no concerns. Site 56 has the Pemigewasset River 30 meters behind the site. There are toilets, no showers, but potable water is available. The camp host sells firewood bundles for $8. Sites are well spaced, and pretty roomy. There's a dump station available about 15 minute drive to the Mobile gas station on Main Street in Lincoln, fee is $15. The sites cost $25 per night, first come first serve; with a lifetime senior pass it was only $12.50 per night for us. You can walk to Lincoln Woods Trailhead, and from there several epic and challenging hikes. Surprisingly, we were concerned that it would be full, arriving here at 2:30 on a Tuesday near peak foliage.. but half the RV sites were open and all of the tent sites were open. Weak cell phone coverage both AT&T and Verizon, but with a booster it was acceptable (I am posting this review from my campsite). This is a great base camp location for 12 bucks a night.
