Easy to find right on the highway but if your site is in the open area then the u-turn next to the office is very tight. Maybe call to see if you're in that area and get directions to take you directly there to avoid that turn.

We enjoyed our site in the open space although our satellite still didn't connect. The cable worked fine though. The park WiFi was sporadic, usually not working. We used the free WiFi at Subway in town.

Very nice staff, friendly and helpful, keep the place clean and well maintained. Didn't use the showerhouse so don't know how it is.

Quiet and good spacing between sites. Level gravel site with grass between and picnic table and fire ring. Our fire ring was up against the back fence which was weird but we didn't have a fire.

FHUs 30 amp, good water pressure. The trees in the park were changing color while we were there and absolutely beautiful. Lots to see and do in the area. Good grocery store and services in North Woodstock.

Last min decision and we got their last spot for Labor Day weekend. We paid for it a bit. Dogs and kids were EVERYWHERE and neither were well behaved. We heard lots of Massachusetts accents screaming to "knock it off already!" We also were in the spot right next to the walkway to the bathhouse, so had steady traffic going by. Our site #60 was gravel, back in, 30 amp, full hookup. It was slightly uphill, so we had to pull the RV all the way to the front of the site to be able to level.

Tent and RV sites were in our loop, which they called the North section. The center was grass, so we were able to park our toad there.

The check-in was a MESS, again Labor Day weekend, but still. It was almost dangerous. We followed the signs and turned in at the main campground. We quickly realized that multiple people were checking in, we had blocked in someone, and more were starting to back up on the road and were honking. I ran in to get our site number so Jason could move out of the way. The person working the desk said, "don't worry, they can wait" and proceeded the full check-in process. Meanwhile, Jason had decided to pull forward, and given there were no signs he turned immediately right to get out of the way. After I left the office, I realized quickly he had turned against a one way. Now all the rigs were coming in and we had no way to turn around to get out and over to the North loop. We had to detach the toad and back our RV up to get in a position to turn around. It was not fun.

The campground has sites that back up to the Pemigewasset River. As gorgeous as that is, on the hour, every hour, a tourist train comes through on the other side of the river whistling and firing some sort of prop gun maybe (?). It was unexpected to say the least. We didn't talk to anyone about it, and just figured it was the train from the Clark's Trading Post attraction down the street. If you're cool with the train and want a pretty view, go for #46 in the North loop.

The location was great to get to The Franconian Notch State Park to hike and to get on the Kangamangus Hwy for the gorgeous drive to Conway.

Our cell service was great and the campground's wifi most always worked for internet surfing and such.

Although loud with their kids and dogs, our neighbors were friendly asking lots of questions about our rig and why we were so far away from home. We'd stay again for a short trip.

We used this as our base of operations for exploring the white mountains and found it convenient for getting to all points. It’s right by the western entrance to the Kancamagus and just south of Franconia notch state park. Mount Washington, Conway and the Lake Winnipesaukee are also doable day trips.

The campground is surrounded on two sides by two different rivers with both have access from the park so you can splash around in them- looked awesome for the summer months but was a little chilly for that during our October visit, but we still enjoyed the sounds and scenery of it. The majority of the sites on the riverfront are tent but they are set up in a way that an RV could use them if they didn’t need hooks ups. The rest of the sites have less epic views but the feel of the park is overall cozy but can feel a little too close together when the park is full. We were there the first two weeks of October and it was only full on the weekends and mostly empty during the week.

This place would be great for someone with kids as there is the rivers to play in, a pond where you can feed ducks, a large playground and a game room.

The bathhouses left a little to be desired in terms of looks but the showers had the kind of shower pressure that dreams are made of- I just wish the stalls had locking doors instead of just shower curtains.

Our AT&T service was great most of the time but on the weekends I think the towers got overloaded by all the boards of leaf peepers coming into town and it would slow down dramatically then. The campground WiFi actually worked pretty well too- sometimes we had trouble picking it up at our site that was farther from the office but other times no issues at all- but if we could connect to it, it worked- so if you are relying on it I would try to get one of the sites right behind the office.

Everyone who worked there was super friendly, they have a campstore with everything you may have forgotten and they accepted packages on our behalf!

We stayed at Country Bumpkins in July for 4 nights, renting one cabin for two friends and a trailer site for my husband and me. The trailer site was okay, though it lacked shade and it was too close to other sites, some of which contained children riding their bicycles recklessly. Our friends’ cabin, however, seemed quite nice. Both cabin and trailer site were located by a beautiful stream with a picnic table and grill and included a small deck overlooking the water with a table and two chairs. With the four of us being in our late 60’s, there was no cause for concern in terms of noise or wild behaviors. In fact, we all enjoyed the simple relaxing joys of those rushing waters. The disappointing part about Country Bumpkins is the list of rules we had to follow which limited our gatherings to the more chaotic trailer site. I urged you read carefully before choosing this spot to vacation. The restrictions did not allow us to enter the cabin of our friends to look inside or set foot on the property for the cabin or even to sit at the picnic table for any length of time. Believe me, I am not exaggerating! If we even approached the cabin, one of the owners would suddenly appear and chide us for breaking their rules. They were not friendly; bordering on hostile. Fortunately, our vacation was not ruined by Diane’s behavior because we spent most of each day far away from the campground. However, it did make for an unpleasant stay, especially in the evening, when the teens in the campgrounds were still up and making a lot of noise at the gaming garage, while us older folks only wanted to spend more quiet time with our friends. In short, I would not recommend this place to anyone. Also, the cabins are not air conditioned. There was a lot of rain which made the cabin muggy and uncomfortable. I hope that Diane and Mario eventually learn to be more flexible and hospitable. It goes a long way in making (or breaking) a camping experience.

I read the reviews from campers staying previous years and, hopefully, this will provide a useful update. I camped in Country Bumpkins with my family that totaled eight adults, six grandchildren, five dogs and three rigs (44' 5th wheel, 38' TT & 27' TT) for six days. Two members of our party stayed in a cabin, the remaining in their rigs. The park is well maintained, clean, quiet, well managed and had an appealing rustic feel. A stream borders most of the park and added a New England ambiance, while providing a great play area for our grandchildren. I had no trouble backing my 44' fifth wheel into site T4. The remainder of my family easily backed their TT's into T5 and T6. While the sites weren't perfectly level, we were able to level our coaches with minimal effort. For big rig owners, I did not find maneuvering through the campground particularly challenging. Trees were trimmed and road was well maintained. Campers and vehicles were parked in their appropriate places, so maneuvering around improperly parked vehicles was not an issue. I did see a 44' fifth wheel parked in site T33. So sites T33-T38, the remaining full hookup sites, are accessible by large rigs. Most of the campers, while we were there, were a mix of tent and small TT campers. Tent campers had great sites along the creek. The game room and playground were an added bonus and were well maintained and clean. Restrooms and showers were spotless. While I did not look at the cabins, my son, his wife and two children reported they were clean and enjoyable. With respect to the rules, they were strictly, fairly and politely enforced. We briefed the kids and none of us felt they were stifling or adversely impacted our vacation there. In fact, I believe they helped to make our stay a pleasant one. We found the owners to be friendly, engaging and dedicated to ensuring we had an enjoyable timei. Our entire family liked them both,This is a great jumping off spot to enjoy New England hiking, tourist attractions and some great restaurants. I gave this 5 stars because it exceeded our expectations and met our criteria of an excellent campground. The website is an accurate description of Country Bumpkins. We camped at Country Bumpkins Campground and Cottages in a Fifth Wheel.

We were fortunate to get A Spot Here Last Minute. We Had T5 With Full Hookups And We Are A 30ft Travel Trailer. Very Quaint, Right Off The Road And Very Quiet. It’s Right On The River, With Direct River Access From The Park And A Waterfall Too. It’s Right Next To The Clarks Bears Amusement Park So You Can See And Hear The Adorable Scenic Train Go By Behind The River. Lots Of Trees And Shade And Done Very Nicely. Our Site Was Unlevel And I wouldn’t Recommend A Rig Any Bigger Than Ours For That Space As It Shares An Entrance With T6. Trash On Site, Bathrooms (although We Didn’t Use Them) And A Pond In The Middle. Right Off Of Scenic Kancamagus Highway And White Mountains. It’s A Small And Narrow Park But Definitely Doable. Owner Is On Site And Very Responsive. It’s bear and moose country so they warn you of that. Price was reasonable as well for full hookups in such a scenic area.
