“a Nebraska Tradition”
Bob and Grace Milton began Misty's as a "bottle club" in 1963 known as Club 63, which was located at 4325 North 63rd Street in Havelock. When the liquor laws changed in 1965 allowing restaurants to sell liquor by the drink a small propane grill was added. The grill held a total of six hamburgers or four small steaks and a restaurant was born! This small grill eventually was replaced with a larger one and finally the addition of a rotisserie ushered in the era of Misty's Restaurant, named for Bob and Grace's favorite song, "Misty". Using quality beef and special spices the Miltons became known for serving the Midwest's finest prime rib. Bob and Grace's unique seasoning recipe was mixed in a large barrel, rolled down the alley to achieve a good blend and then used to season the prime rib, steaks and burgers that many have come to love. This seasoning is now commercially blended and sold in grocery stores both locally and nationwide. Misty's Original All Purpose Seasoning has been joined by Natural All Purpose Seasoning (no MSG), BBQ Seasoning, Cajun Seasoning, and No Salt Seasoning. Misty's is the original "sports bar". The Miltons' support for the University of Nebraska extended to providing employment to the Husker Football players. As the players greeted and served guests our "Big Red" image became a tradition that has carried on to this day. Misty's Restaurant & Lounge has earned votes for Lincoln's Best Prime Rib, Best Steak, Best Place for Dinner and Best Restaurant for many years running and has been recognized by the Nebraska Beef Council and Restaurant & Hospitality Magazine. These honors are in large part due to Misty's insistence on serving only Certified Premium USDA Choice beef. The Nebraska Restaurant Association named Bob Milton Restaurateur of The Year in 1998 in tribute to his flair for hospitality. He passed away later that year leaving a legacy we are proud to uphold. In September of 2001 we were honored to be entrusted with the Miltons' 38 years of hard work and tradition. We are committed to the same quality food and hospitable spirit that began at Club 63 so many years ago. Thank you for choosing Misty's and we hope you will enjoy your taste of our tradition.
Classic old steakhouse. Service was awesome. Atmosphere is pleasant and comfortable. Food prepared and tasted as it did decades ago. A favorite anytime but special occasions make it memorable. Read more
Complete disappointment. Ordered the 20oz "Chef Special" ribeye and ended up with a grisly fat hunk of steak that was not edible. Showed it to the waitress who apologized but did nothing. I... Read more
Food was not good. The crab cakes are thin with what taste like mush on the inside, and remind you more of a Salmon croquette. I ordered the Salmon and it was definitely frozen and it was... Read more
