“Beautiful view of the heartland!”

Westview County Home which was part of the Lancaster County's poor farm. Today it serves as a charming and restful Bed and Breakfast. Westview served as the county home for the poor. In 1915, the original wood structure was destroyed by fire. A year later the present 15,000 square-foot residence was "built to last" with fireproof foot-thick walls and 6-inch concrete floors, even in the attic. The new Westview County Home was finished in 1916. The northwest wing of this large prairie-style building has been thoroughly renovated and is now a distinguished, yet cozy B&B. Westview has received recognition as a landmark for its rich, historical significance. Today, Westview is the home of Colleen and Jim Burden who would love to offer you an opportunity to come and spend some time on your own private sittin' porch complete with a view of the heartland.
