Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on May 15, 2016We have stayed at this small KOA several times while exploring Northwest Illinois and parts of the driftless area of Wisconsin. The facilities are typical KOA, but the friendliness of the staff make it special. It is an exceptionally clean and neat KOA with large sites. It is very well maintained and is about the only full hook up option in the area. Not all sites are full hook-up sites, so plan ahead if this is what you require. A pool, jumping pillow and playground will entertain the kids. The camp store stocks local wines. There is a little highway noise if parked near the highway.
The campground is set in the midst of scenic family farms on historic route 20. It seems like it is in the middle of nowhere, but if you look around and explore a bit, there are interesting sites to see, photographs to be taken, local beers and wine to drink and cheese to eat. Biking is available on country roads and trails. It is scenic in a quiet way for lovely old barns and farms. I noticed many birds typical of open fields and forest edge. There is a historic stagecoach road nearby. It is a convenient stop for visiting the Mississippi river town, Galena, Illinois (noted for the home of U.S. Grant) and the southern Wisconsin cheese factories and sites.

Exquisite landscaping all around! Pool and air pillow as well as other things for the kids. Nice, quiet spot to camp, nice walking paths to exercise our dogs!
