“grain to glass”
Here in the heartland, on the banks of the Mighty Mississippi, life on the land is intimately married to the flow of the waters. That marriage of land and water is embodied in our handcrafted spirits. We create liquors slow and pure. Born from the finest grains, sourced from local farmers, we know where every kernel comes from. What you’ll find in this bottle was made for you, not for for the masses. We’re a family owned and operated company. We believe in stewardship of our land and water. We know that the family farm is an important part of our community and our culture here. And we believe in quality above all else. It was important to us that our spirits would be local and authentic. Even as we’ve grown, that remains the core of our brand. We know our farmers, we know our customers and we are committed to doing it the right way. We started in 2010 as a unique idea between two brothers. But our little distillery has grown into one of the top craft distilleries in the country. We now send our spirits to dozens of states in the U.S. and export to Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Germany. We might be bigger and make more than we did when we started, but our commitment to authentic craft spirits hasn’t changed. Our hometown roots will always be the cornerstone of our growing business. We know you’ll appreciate the hard work that each bottle represents. We hope you’ll share some with your friends, then come to Le Claire and say hello so we can show you what makes us so proud about the wonderful place we call home.
They literally have 25 cocktails on offer, with their vodka, gin, bourbon, and rye, so there’s something for everyone. Tiki drinks, Bloody Marys, mules, basically everything anyone could ever want. I decided to keep it simple with an old fashioned, and I was not disappointed. Also samples tastes of the BBA gin, mint julep and strawberry vodka. Not a bad booze in the batch. Really sweet taproom, too, with views of the river. Oh and I loved the bartenders, they were so sweet!
Check these guys out! Short behind the scenes look and free samples. If you go at the right time of year (we came in October) they’ll have a Big Peach Vodka - buy it. It’s the best I’ve ever had.
We got 2 tasting flights of delicious spirits including gin, artisanal spirit, rye, peach, strawberry and honey liquors for $4.25. Nice outdoor patio. Extensive cocktail menu, nice bathrooms and friendly staff. Free Tours on the hour from 12-4. Went home with a bottle of rye!
Very amazing tour! See how vodka, gin and whiskey are made and then sample some of their products in their tasting room.
