“Swim in a Desert Lake!”

This serene lake offers great opportunities for fishing, bird watching, and windsurfing. Choose from a variety of campsites with utility hookups for RVs.  The park is conveniently located near historic Las Vegas. One of the best ways to experience a state park is is by camping under the stars. Different camping opportunities are available and whether you like to roll out your  sleeping bag or curl up in your RV, state parks has it all. Fishing, of all varieties, is one of the most popular activities at NM State Parks. Twenty-four parks have ponds, streams, rivers or lakes, providing a variety of different fishing experiences. From a lazy afternoon casting for pan-fish to a high-energy adventure of fishing for 40-inch tiger muskie, your State Parks have a lot to offer. There are many State Parks that allow you to swim. Make sure to call the park directly for changes in designated waters and seasonal closures. We do not recommend cliff diving as New Mexico's terrain is very rocky in and out of water. Please remember to always where your life jackets!

Camping is basic no frills - ok with me (including RV sites) tho you can get site with covered picnic table (adobe style). All roads a bit pot-holey but no ruts. It’s quite and pretty lots of open space (few trees) and popular fishing lake so locals frequent. Day use fees apply. The park ranger is very nice 👍🏼

At Storrie Lake State Park and Campground campers enjoy the park year-round although showers and water spigots are shut off during winter. There are developed tent and RV sites within several feet of the lake. A large lakeshore area for primitive camping practically allows anglers to fish from the comfort of their campsites. RV sites with electric hookup are back a bit from the lake. Many of the developed sites in the park have cabana type shelters and are shaded by large cottonwoods. Primitive camping along the shoreline is grassy but has few trees.
