Discover a complete and authentic army post from the 1860s -1870s! This well-preserved fort on the Santa Fe Trail shares a tumultuous history of the Indian Wars era. The sandstone constructed buildings sheltered troops who were known as the Guardians of the Santa Fe Trail.
Absolutely amazing! The staff was amazing and extremely helpful and knowledgable. We stopped to kill time and I did not have high expectations but I was blown away. We would drive out of our way to come see this again. A must stop for any roadtripper!!
Absolutely amazing
This is the best preserved Fort from the 1870 I have seen. Great history museum with several high tech story telling additions. The Ranger staff is friendly and know their history.
